1. Which Harmonica to BUY?

This is the most common question asked.
You will need a 12 Hole, 3 Octave, chromatic ( with Slider) harmonica. SCALE C. as a Standard harmonica to play most of the songs in Hindi.

2. Will a Diatonic Harmonica do? Or You need a CHROMATIC Harmonica Only?
ANS: Not all songs can be played correctly with Diatonic ( non chromatic or Non slider ones)
CHROMATIC HARMONICA is the one which has a Slider Button on the side.
if your Harmonica does not have the slider button, or scale changer, it means You have a DIATONIC Harmonica.

3. Is 16 Hole Harmonica Better than 12 Hole?
ANS:  12 hole will do your job for most of it. 16 hole is not required. and as a beginner, 12 hole is easy to handle and identify holes.
The 4 extra holes in the 16 holes are lower octave notes, used mostly for chord playing and instrumental effect in lay mans language. 95% of your Hindi Film songs will be played using the 12 holes Harmonica.
why carry the weight of 16 hole one and spend almost 4-8 thousand more for the instrument which you will maybe never use.
If you already have a 16 hole instrument ( unlikely), you will have to see the hole numbers and use it. You can enroll in the course and no need to buy a new one.

4. I have 24 hole Harmonica – Tower Model, can i use it to learn songs?
ANS: yes you can, however, Mostly this is a Chinese Toy model harmonica. you can of course play the songs, However for the beginners, we suggest any brand 12 Hole, 3 octave, chromatic Harmonica of Scale C.
